We are happy to welcome Mohammed Al-Khafaji to the lab. Mohammed will be working on identifying the key RNA-protein interactions that target SL2 RNAs to mRNAs derived from downstream genes in operons.
Two new lab members started this month - Sarah Brivio and Viktorija Sabele, who are doing their Masters by Research in the lab.

In February we welcomed three new lab members: Dr Eva Soto; Peter Eijlers and Fayisola Fasimoye.
Three new research positions are available to work on two new projects in the lab.
Understanding the mechanism of a nematode Achilles’ heel. Research Technician - 3 year position, funded by the BBSRC - application deadline: 08/11/19. Postdoctoral Research Fellow - 3 year position, funded by the BBSRC - application deadline: 08/11/19. Recurrent evolution of a eukaryotic molecular trait: acquisition of polycistronic RNA processing. PhD Studentship - 4 year, funded by EASTBIO BBSRC. Rosie recently attended the meeting, Parasitic Helminths: New Perspectives in Biology and Infection Parasitic Helminths: New Perspectives in Biology and Infection, held on Hydra, Greece, where she presented some of the latest findings concerning the protein and RNA components of the spliced leader trans-splicing machinery.
